Whether it is the provision of free legal advice services to clients in need, raising funds for various charities, volunteering in our local community or coaching community sporting teams, we recognise the importance of giving back to our community and there are many ways that Watts McCray – as an organisation and our individual staff members are helping to support, and give back to our local communities (see below).
ACT Law Society
The provision of free family law advice services through the ACT Law Society’s ‘Legal Advice Bureau’, provided by staff in our Canberra office.
Seminars and Workshops
The provision of regular seminars and workshops to local High School students completing the Family Law component of the HSC syllabus, including provision of free support materials, revision classes, ongoing mentoring, and sponsoring Legal Studies’ Awards for local High Schools.
NSW Rural Fire Service
Many of our staff are Board and Committee members for various community organisations as well as holding positions in Law Society Committees, including Young Lawyers (ACT), Young Lawyers (NSW),Central Coast Law Society, NSW Law Society Family Law Committee, and Law Society Privacy and Communications Committee
At the beginning of 2019, Watts McCray started a new tradition across our offices: ‘Casual Friday with a twist’.
Staff members can wear casual attire on the last Friday of the month in exchange for a donation. The money is collected among our offices and donated to a selected charity each month.
