Justice Delayed is Justice Denied

Watts McCray Director Justin Dowd and Special Counsel Maurice Edwards attended the launch of Zoe Durand’s book “Inside Family Law – Conversation from the Coalface” last week at the College of Law in Sydney.

In the book Zoe interviews a Judge, former Judges, Court experts, lawyers and other individuals who have navigated the family law system in Australia. Maurice is one of those interviewed.  His interview is titled “Justice Delayed is Justice Denied”.

Maurice discusses his 35 year journey in family law and offers suggestions to litigants involved in the Family Court system. Maurice explains the advantages of collaboration, mediation and arbitration in many circumstances.  In his interview he is quoted as saying “a sign of collaboration is worth a taste of mediation, a sample of arbitration and a smorgasbord of litigation”.

Food for thought.
