Caroline McKenzie

Caroline McKenzie

Senior Associate

Caroline has over 16 years’ experience in the legal industry and was admitted as a solicitor in 2020. She has qualified for a Master of Laws majoring in Family Dispute Resolution and is a qualified Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner.

Caroline is experienced and confident in assisting clients through complex parenting and property matters, and is deeply committed to helping families resolve matters with respect, empathy, and long-term clarity. She has a strong appreciation of the emotional and financial cost of litigation. Her passion lies in keeping families out of court wherever possible, empowering clients to find resolution through alternate dispute resolution and practical agreements. Drawing from her own experience as a mother of five, and having successfully lived under a consent order for the care of her children for more than 15 years, she brings genuine insight into what works for families navigating separation and co-parenting arrangements.

Where litigation is called for, Caroline has had carriage of matters before Division 1 and 2 of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Before joining Watts McCray, Caroline ran a successful practice on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, where she focused on family law matters, including alternative dispute resolution and preparing binding financial agreements, estate planning, conveyancing and property matters, and small business matters.

Away from the office, Caroline has lived on the Northern Beaches of Sydney for her whole life. She enjoys spending time at the beach, watching her children’s soccer games, surfing and nippers, attending her children’s drama performances, walking around Narrabeen Lake, and otherwise spending time with her family and friends.
