Bernadette Melhem is a Family Law Accredited Specialist, a title she achieved in 2013. Since her admission as a solicitor in 2005, Bernadette has gained experience working across various jurisdictions and developed a special interest in Family Law with a particular focus on children and property matters.

Bernadette’s main focus in her practice is you, her client. She understands your needs are very different to the needs of everyone else when it comes to the breakdown of your relationship and the issues ancillary to that. Every matter is unique and this is something Bernadette understands very well. She is able to communicate effectively with you in order to understand your individual needs and to work towards the best possible outcome for you. Whilst Bernadette encourages the resolution of matters through mediation and negotiation, should a matter need to go to Court she is experienced in appearing in the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.

Bernadette attended the University of Western Sydney to complete her Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Bernadette was admitted as Solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 2005. Together with her practice in Family Law, Bernadette has also worked in various other jurisdictions including conveyancing, Wills and Probate, Asbestos and Insurance Litigation and has experience appearing in the Local, District and Supreme Courts as well as the Dust Diseases Tribunal. Her experience in other areas outside family law allows her to impart that knowledge in situations where your matter may require it. Her diversity in knowledge allows diversity of practice which is nothing but beneficial for you as her client.
