Domestic Violence Laws

Domestic Violence Laws

Domestic Violence is unacceptable, and should not occur. Underpinned by the notion of control, domestic violence can take many forms and can have disastrous effects on the lives of adults and children.

State laws make provision for your personal safety. If for any reason you fear for your own safety, or the safety of your children, we can advise you in relation to obtaining Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs) for the protection of your safety and welling, and the implication of AVOs when looking at the issue of post separation parenting of children.

We will also act on your behalf in Court if you need to defend the making of an AVO against you, should this be necessary.

For more information, visit our list of frequently asked questions about domestic violence or contact us to make an appointment to discuss your situation.
