Divorce Settlements

Divorce Settlements

Divorce is an option for couples who have been separated for 12 months or more and feel the marriage has broken down irretrievably.  Divorce dissolves a marriage. Obtaining a divorce does involve a separate application to the Federal Magistrates Court with which we can assist you.

In Australia, it is important to remember that divorce is a separate legal process from resolving parenting arrangements for children, or property settlement.  Divorce does not finalise these other issues, and time limits do apply to the resolution of property settlements if not completed by the time a divorce is granted.

For more information, visit our list of frequently asked questions about divorce or contact us to make an appointment to discuss your situation. Alternatively you can make an online divorce application at www.divorce.com.au
