Collette Mcfawn

SPECIAL EXPERTISE

Collette has worked solely in the area of Family Law since her admission as a solicitor in 2005. Formerly, as the Associate to a Federal Magistrate, Collette gained invaluable insight into the Family Court process and was awarded an Australia Day medallion in January 2008 for her service to the Court.

Collette has been an active member of the NSW Young Lawyers Family Law Committee for several years and through this membership has contributed to the 3rd edition of the Family Law Handbook and chaired numerous legal education seminars. Collette was also elected a 2007 Presidential Nominee by the President of NSW Young Lawyers.

Prior to Collette's admission as a solicitor, she held a senior management position in Audit & Risk Management with a publicly listed company.

BACKGROUND

Growing up in the Hawkesbury region, Collette completed her Arts Degree at the University of Sydney, majoring in humanitarian subjects. Collette then took up a full time senior management position whilst completing her Law Degree at the University of Technology, Sydney. Collette graduated with first class honours in Law and won the Family Law prize for placing first in the subject.

After graduating from Law, Collette completed a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice at the University of Technology (Sydney).
