Chris Dunn announced as inaugural President of the Greater West Family Law Practitioners Association

It has been announced this evening that Watts McCray Lawyers’ Senior Consultant, Chris Dunn, will be the inaugural President of the Greater West Family Law Practitioners Association.  The Honourable Eric Baker has also been appointed the Association’s Patron.  The announcements were made by His Honour Justice Foster, one of the Justices of the Family Court based at the Parramatta Registry, moments ago.

Mr Dunn was quoted as saying:

“My vision for the Greater West Family Law Practitioners Association is for it to provide a means for all people who work in the Family Law system – not just lawyers and judges, to help each other in providing the best possible assistance to their Family Law clients.

It is envisaged that the Association will provide learning programs and mentoring opportunities for its members.  Importantly, it will also provide a voice for those who practise in Family Law in the geographic areas serviced by the Parramatta and Dubbo Registries of the Family Law Courts in lobbying and making submissions to Government, Commissions and other professional associations.

I am excited about the support already received from my fellow practitioners and the officers of the Family Court in setting up this important Association”.

We, at Watts McCray Lawyers, are very proud that Chris will lead the newly created Association through these challenging times of Family Law practice which will include the Review by the Australian Law Reform Commission of the Family Law system due in March 2019.

We congratulate Chris on his appointment.
